B&C Morning Show: Where's The Love For A-Rod?

The Yankees began their series against the Kansas City Royals the same way they finished off their 3-game set with the Texas Rangers -- with a win, thanks in big part to the bat of their "all-world" third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

A-Rod gave the Yanks a lead they would not relinquish with a 2-run single in the 5th inning, this on the heels of being lambasted by the local media yesterday for his troubles at the plate.

Today's early papers chose to focus on the pitching performances of starter Freddy Garcia, who got the win and improved to 2-2 -- and reliever David Robertson,  who worked out of a 7th inning jam -- rather than on A-Rod, who got the game winning hit.

Craig said this is unacceptable and wanted to get to the bottom of what he perceives to be an agenda against Alex Rodriguez.

The Mets got a 4-3 win in Colorado and there was no trouble identifying their hero in the clubhouse, as Mike Pelfrey not only pitched well enough to earn his third win of the year, but in the 4th inning he did it with his bat, driving home two with a bases-clearing double.

One sour note, as David Wright and Ike Davis collided in the 4th inning while going for a pop-up. Wright caught the ball but Davis came away a little banged-up, and now his health is in question and he may not be in the lineup this afternoon against the Rockies.

Then Boomer & Craig both praised Rangers left winger Sean Avery for his admirable stance on the issue of gay marriage...
