B&C Morning Show: "TV Star" David Wells Talks Yanks, Mets
Former big-league pitcher and current analyst for the MLB on TBS, David Wells joined Craig via the hotline to talk some local hardball.
While Wells will not be attending Yankees Old Timers Day this Sunday, he did let us know that the participants will be wearing New Era caps similar to the throwback hats the Yanks wore earlier this season at Fenway Park (pictured below).
Before getting into the baseball stuff, Craig asked Wells how he's been enjoying his TV gig. He seems to be living the good life, and he loves how TBS has allowed him to be himself on-camera.
Eventually the guys did break down the Mets and Yanks, starting with the phenomenon that has been R.A. Dickey's stellar season. Wells says he never could have predicted that a knuckleball pitcher would be able to throw back-to-back one-hitters. He goes as far as to say that Dickey should be the starting pitcher for the National League in the All-Star Game.
Before long the focus shifted to the red-hot Yankees. Wells says when the Yanks put it all together, they can be scary good. He added that it doesn't hurt when you've got the now 38-year-old Derek Jeter playing like he's still 25.
Before they said goodbye, Craig extends his customary golf outing invitation.
