B&C Morning Show: Opening Day Triumph At Citi Field
The Mets opened up their 2012 campaign with an impressive 1-0 win over the Braves and Boomer & Craig were there to enjoy every minute of it.
Boomer was thankful he was not forced to sit with Craig, which seemed to be the plan yesterday prior to the game. Instead they sat in different sections, which was just fine with the Blonde Bomber.
From the touching tribute to the late Gary Carter prior to first pitch to Johan Santana's triumphant return, Craig described it as 'a fabulous day at Citi Field.'
As for Boomer, he especially enjoyed the 'three-out save' courtesy of Frank Francisco, but did come into the Allstate Studio expecting an apology from his radio partner for 'tweeting' out a misleading picture (see below), which Boomer felt cast him in a bad light.
After the Mets game was long over, the Knicks took the court down in Orlando and then proceeded to thump Dwight Howard and the Magic to the tune of 96-80. This game had a little bit of everything, beginning with some pregame drama between Howard and his head coach Stan Van Gundy, some in-game intensity courtesy of Tyson Chandler, treys dropping all over the floor (Knicks buried 13 for the game) and a case of the Knickerbockers getting momentum and not taking their foot off the gas.
So we had all of that, a Rangers 5-2 loss to the Penguins - which was marred by a cheap shot - Craig predicting that Jason Bay will contribute nothing to the Mets' plight this season, in addition to all of the other antics you've come to love and expect from the Dynamic Radio Duo...
