B&C Morning Show: MLB Puts A Lid On Mets' Patriotism

After acknowledging the tremendous job the NFL did with regard to the commemoration of the 9/11 attacks, Craig made sure to shed some negative light on Major League Baseball for doing just the opposite.

The Mets put in a request to wear hats honoring the emergency service departments during their game against the Cubs last night, but that request was denied by Joe Torre and the MLB hierarchy.

Boomer and Craig both agree that this was a horrible job on the part of the MLB. This is especially true considering that, as Craig brings up, the league took advantage of 9/11 to move the game to an 8:05 start in the first place.

Craig goes as far as to say that if it were up to him, he would have worn the hats anyway and then dealt with whatever repercussions the league would hand down after the fact.

Boomer also talks about the changes the NFL made with its uniform policy to accommodate for patriotism on 9/11, and how it is a stark contrast to what the MLB offices decided to do.

It seems that one league gets it, while the other does not.
