When a listener named Gary called in and said that Alex Rodriguez was no Lou Gehrig, this after the Yankees 3rd baseman tied the 'Iron Horse' by hitting his 23rd career Grand Slam last night in the Yankees 6-4 win over the Braves, it got Craig to thinking.
From there Boomer & Craigie talked a little about the Negro Leagues and Craig expressed a desire to have seen the legendary Josh Gibson play in person. On that note, Boomer said he would have liked to have seen the 'greatest living baseball player' of all-time, Willie Mays, patrol center field in his prime (Boomer saw the 'Say Hey Kid' play at the tail end of his Hall of Fame career).
Craig told us that Willie Mays had an apartment about 5 blocks from where he grew-up, so the conversation then shifted to what kind of Halloween candy Mays gave out...
