B&C Morning Show: Jerry Updates On Mets' Alderson, Hot Soccer Babes
With an off-night on the baseball diamond, Jerry didn't have much to report on as far as on-field action, but he did have some information to pass along after Mets GM Sandy Alderson spoke on a conference call yesterday.
Alderson addressed the speculation surrounding the recent deal he pulled off that sent Francisco Rodriguez to the Brewers for very little in return. The speculation is that the K-Rod is the beginning of the end for the 2011 Mets, but Alderson says not so fast and claims the Mets are still in it to win it.
The Yankees will kick off their second half north of the border against the Blue Jays, and the Women's US soccer team advanced to the World Cup Final after beating France 3-1.
We also got to hear a LIVE British Open update courtesy of a fella by the name of Bobby O'Dwyer,who claimed to be in Sandwich, England for golf's third major of the year.
Finally, Jerry provided a few play-by-play cuts from last night's Auburn Doubleday-Brooklyn Cyclone game. Normally Jerry doesn't include stories about the New York - Penn League (which is the league the Cyclones play in), but not only was the game heard here on WFAN, but it was called by the FAN's own John Minko and Adam 'the Bull' Gerstenhaber along with former Met John Franco...
