B&C Morning Show: Jerry Updates All The Losing
Jerry Recco's first update of the morning was more about losing then winning, beginning with the two local baseball teams, who between them couldn't manage a win over the weekend. The Mets fell to the Dodgers 8-3, in 12 innings, putting a bow on the three-game sweep for Los Angeles. Making matters worse, Johan Santana was smacked around Friday night and has now been placed on the 15-day DL with a bum ankle. The Mets have lost 9 out of 10 and have dropped to one game below the .500 mark for the first time all year, with a record of 47-48.
Al Dukes also shared what he has heard from 'sources' regarding Terry Collins' decision to use R.A. Dickey out of the bullpen Saturday night.
The Yankees were out in Oakland and didn't fare much better than their N.L. counterpart, as they were drop kicked by the A's, losing all four games to Brandon Inge and company and saw their 10 game lead in the A.L. East, dwindled down to just six with the Mariners up next.
Plus, Ernie Els win his fourth Major Title and second British Open, after Adam Scott had a collapse of epic proportions, Joe Paterno statue was finally taken down and Craig and Al Dukes fondly recall the Red Bulls game they attended together over the weekend...
