B&C Morning Show: Bernie Williams Says A Thing Or Two In The Allstate Studio
Bernie Williams made the trip into Manhattan this morning to visit with Craig and talk about baseball, life after baseball, music, steroids & PED's and to say hello to Mark Teixeira.
Although he has still not officially retired, it's pretty clear that Bernie's playing days are behind him and it sounds like that is okay with him. Since hanging up the cleats, Williams has furthered his skills as a classically trained guitarist, signing with the great Paul McCartney's publishing company, MPL Communications.
He and Craig got things started by talking about the Yankee career of Roy White, before moving on to Roger Clemens, who Bernie called the best pitcher he's ever seen, and the low hanging fruit that is PED's. On that note, the subject of the Hall of Fame came-up and Craig asked the sixteen year MLB vet his thoughts on whether Hall of Fame worthy players who are known to have violated to league policy should be enshrined in Cooperstown.
Williams went on to talk about his three World Series' and what it was like to play with the likes of Derek Jeter and even offered up his thoughts on the season R.A. Dickey is in the midst-of.
Bernie even stuck around long enough to say hello to current Yankees' first baseman Mark Teixeira, who called in on the hotline to talk with his good buddy Craigie...
