Bayonne Man Indicted On Child Sex Assault Charges
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New Jersey man accused of sexually abusing two young girls over the course of five years has been indicted on sexual assault and child endangerment charges.
Gregory Schaffer, 34, of Bayonne also faces charges of making terroristic threats in the indictment made public Wednesday by Hudson County prosecutors.
Schaffer allegedly committed the crimes between 2005 and 2010, authorities said.
One of the girls was allegedly abused when she was between the ages of 8 and 9 years old and then again when she was 11 years old, prosecutors said. The second victim was sexually assaulted in 2008 when she was 12 years old, prosecutors said.
Police believe Schaffer posed online as a talent agent, swim instructor, Navy Seal and fugitive recovery agent using the name John Archambeault to meet the girls, prosecutors said.
Police also seized video footage they said he kept of the girls.
Schaffer remained in custody Wednesday.
