Bay Shore Man Charged With DWI After Wife Injured In East Farmingdale Crash
EAST FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man is under arrest for DWI and his wife hospitalized following a crash in East Farmingdale Tuesday night.
Police said 57-year-old Jefferey Hirsch, of Bay Shore, was driving with his wife when his car collided with a vehicle stopped at a light on Wellwood Avenue around 7:43 p.m.
Hirsch's wife, Pauline, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, Ronald Giovelli, and his passenger, were treated for non-life threatening injuries at St. Joseph's Hospital and released.
Hirsch sustained minor injuries. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
Both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
