Balducci's Returns To Manhattan With On-The-Go Cafe

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- We've got three words for you: Balducci's is back.

After leaving the city years ago, the legendary food market was bombarded with requests to return to Manhattan.

Now it's back with a Balducci's Gourmet on the Go café in the Hearst Tower on 56^th Street and Eighth Avenue.

The café is celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday.

"We are back and we are delighted to be back in New York City," said Emil Grosso, Vice President of Business Development for the company.

The café will offer time-starved New Yorkers sandwiches, salads, coffee, crepes, gelato and other grab-and-go items but 1010 WINS' John Montone reports Balducci's plans to open a full market offering fresh produce, meat, fish and cheese within the year.
