Bad Omen? Yanks Get A Taste Of The Commuter's Life On Way Back To New York
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — What is it with the Yankees and transportation?
The Bronx Bombers got a taste of the commuter's life following their Game 2 loss in the division series against the Orioles.
Power problems on the Yankees' train line delayed their departure out of Baltimore. They were then forced to switch to buses during a late-night trip home following a 3-2 defeat.
The Yankees arrived at the train station at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday but were delayed about an hour. The train experienced further electrical disruptions about a half-hour into the trip.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said during a conference call on Tuesday that after the train arrived in Aberdeen, Md., the team switched to buses. The club arrived in New York at about 6 a.m.
The Orioles' travel plans were also affected.
Game 3 of the series -- currently tied at 1-1 -- resumes on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
After the Yankees lost in devastating fashion to the Red Sox in early September, the team's bus hit a gate outside Fenway Park and shattered one of its side windows.
