B, D Subway Lines To Shut Down Overnight In The Bronx Next Week
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Grand Concourse section of the B and D subway lines in the Bronx will be shut down during the overnight hours next week for maintenance.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority is instituting the FASTRACK maintenance program on the line, which will be shut down between 161st Street and 205th Street in both directions from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday night through early Friday morning.
During the maintenance period, B service will end early, and D service will only operate between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn and 161st Street-Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Downtown D trains will not stop at 125th Street.
As an alternative, commuters are advised to take the 4 train. A transfer is available between the 4 and D trains at 161st Street-Yankee Stadium.
Free shuttle buses will also be in operation between the Norwood-205th Street D station and the Mosholu Parkway 4 station.
