Autopsy Planned For Man Found Dead In Suffolk County Fire
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An autopsy was planned Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death for a man whose body was found at the scene of a fire in Suffolk County.
A dog was also found dead in the fire.
The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. Tuesday at a house on Fairdale Drive near Wicks Road in Brentwood, according to Newsday.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was engulfed in flames. Firefighters found the man and the dog dead in a rear bedroom, Suffolk County police said.
The Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office was to perform an autopsy to determine the man's exact cause of death. His identity had not been released Wednesday night.
