John 'Junior' Gotti Clams Up In Investigation Of Alleged Stabbing Outside CVS
SYOSSET, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities on Long Island investigating a report that John "Junior'' Gotti was stabbed outside a pharmacy say the former mobster isn't cooperating with investigators.
There's little doubt that Gotti is nursing a stab wound, but other circumstances surrounding the story are a mystery.

Police said Gotti drove himself to the hospital Sunday night and told doctors he had just been stabbed in the stomach while trying to break up a fight between two strangers in the parking lot of a nearby CVS store in Syosset.
But after giving the initial version of the story, police and prosecutors said Gotti stopped cooperating.
Employees who were working at the pharmacy at the time of the alleged incident said they don't recall seeing or hearing anything in the parking lot that night and didn't notice any physical evidence of a fight.

Many outside the CVS where the alleged incident occurred also doubted Gotti's story.
"There's no violence at CVS," one woman told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg.
"I'm sure he uses his muscle for some good and some not so good," another shopper said.
"You've got to take him for his word, I guess, but you never know," a man told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs.
Gotti's attorney will only say he's looking into the matter.
His neighbors said it sounds like something Gotti might do.
"He probably saw something going on," neighbor Marcello Caccialino said. "This kind of guy, always the underdog, trying to save the weak."
Gotti, 49, is the son of the late, legendary Gambino crime family leader, John "Dapper Don" Gotti.
In 1999, he pleaded guilty to racketeering charges and served five years in prison.
Gotti said he left organized crime in 1999, but skeptical prosecutors continue to scrutinize his business dealings. Prosecutors have tried Gotti four times for racketeering since 2005, but each trial ended in a hung jury.
