Authorities Release ID Of Orange Man Wanted In Murder Of Bouncer
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) –The name of the man believed to be responsible for the August 6 shooting death of a West Orange bouncer has been released by the authorities.
Nolvin Garcia, 24, of Orange, is wanted for the murder of Jacques Nelson, Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and West Orange Police Chief James P. Abbott announced Thursday.
Nelson, a father of four, was shot and killed while trying to break up a fight in the parking lot of Misty's Restaurant and Bar on Main Street around 2 a.m. Monday, police said.
In attempts to identify the shooter, the Essex County Prosecutor's office and police had released a surveillance image of a person of interest, who was at the bar the night of the fatal shooting.
The man was revealed to be Garcia, prosecutors said.
Garcia, who remains at large, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses. His bail has been set at $750,000.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
