Report: 1 Dead In Multi-Vehicle Crash On Northbound Tappan Zee Bridge
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York officials said one person was killed and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the northbound Tappan Zee Bridge on Tuesday night.
An official for the Rockland Paramedic Service told The Journal News a female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He said the injured were taken to area hospitals in serious and critical conditions.
At least four vehicles were involved in the accident, which may have also involved a "wrong way" driver, New York State Police said. At least one vehicle rolled over during the wreck.
The accident was first reported at about 9 p.m. State police closed the northbound lanes to perform an accident reconstruction. Southbound traffic remained open, but delays were expected.
