At Chamber Event, NJ Gov. Preaches Fiscal Restraint
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Governor Chris Christie tells New Jersey business leaders that he's committed to getting the state back on track by maintaining fiscal discipline.
Christie said he has to say no to more spending in a heavily indebted, overtaxed state.
Christie spoke Thursday night at the annual dinner during the state Chamber of Commerce's annual trip to Washington, D.C.
Snow did not stop the gathering, but the 11-car chartered train was not so full as in recent years, suggesting that some were deterred by the weather.
Christie passed on the trip last year, saying he and his staff had too much work to do. He also skipped the trip as a candidate for governor the year before.
