Astorino On Alleged Secret Deal Between Skelos, Cuomo: 'I Guess That's Politics'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The race for governor of New York is over, but the dust may be settling for a while on charges of a secret deal.
The campaign manager for Rob Astorino, Andrew Cuomo's Republican challenger in this month's gubernatorial race, told the New York Post that the incumbent Democratic governor reached a political deal with Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos.
Under the alleged agreement, Cuomo eased off support of certain Democrats while Skelos helped Cuomo's bid for a second term.

Skelos' spokesman denies such a deal existed.
Cuomo won re-election Nov. 4.
"It's sad that some leaders in our party feel it's more important to stay alive as opposed to advancing an agenda, reforming the state," Astorino told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane.
Astorino, the Westchester County executive, said he wouldn't stand for the status quo, and that led to a lack of same-party support.
As for the Republicans, "staying alive," Astorino said, "I guess that's politics."
