Assault Rifle Among Weapons Turned In At Brooklyn Gun Buyback
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - A gun buyback in Brooklyn sponsored by the NYPD held on Saturday netted 115 weapons, including an assault rifle.
An Archangel .22-caliber assault rifle was among the weapons turned in at the event.
The gun buyback was held at the Christian Cultural Center in East New York. Authorities said seven defaced handguns, a sawed-off shotgun, 56 revolvers and 33 semi-automatic weapons were collected.

The guns were all turned in anonymously, police said.
According to police, since gun buybacks began in 2008, 8,200 firearms have been surrendered.
