ASPCA: New Home For Dog Seen In Harlem Elevator Beating Video
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A dog that authorities said was seen on surveillance video being beaten inside an elevator in Harlem now has a new home.
Hazel was adopted by a family in Astoria, Queens on Friday.
Back on Aug. 26, a man was seen hitting and kicking Hazel multiple times inside an elevator at the Wagner Houses on East 120th Street, police said.
Brian Freeman, 28, of East 188th Street in the Bronx, was later arrested in connection with the case, charged with torturing and injury to an animal.
After spending time recovering from her injuries, Hazel now has a new place to call home.
"Hazel is such a sweet dog and is very eager to please," the ASPCA said in a statement. "We're so happy that she's been given a second lease on life and can now enjoy her time with her new family."
Freeman is due in court next month.
