Arson Blamed For Dry Cleaners Fire On Long Island
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Investigators have deemed that a fire that broke out early Sunday at a dry cleaners on Long Island was an arson.
A 911 call was placed shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday for smoke near Merrick Road and Central Avenue in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County police.
Police and firefighters responded and found the Purr-Fect Cleaners at 38 S. Central Ave. on fire. Fifty firefighters and eight pieces of equipment were dispatched to fight the blaze.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
On Sunday evening, police ruled that arson was to blame for the blaze. The investigation was ongoing.
