Arrest Made In Death Of Fort Lee Man Found In Trunk Of Car In The Bronx
FORT LEE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities have made an arrest in the slaying of a New Jersey man whose body was found last month in the trunk of a car on a New York City street.
Andre Jamal Thompson, 25, is charged with felony murder, robbery and burglary in the death of 24-year-old Jordan Johnson of Fort Lee, said Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.
Thompson was arrested last week in a Maryland hotel room and is now awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
Thompson allegedly lured Johnson to an apartment in Fort Lee, where he was attacked and eventually killed, Molinelli said.
Johnson was reported missing by his live-in girlfriend on Jan. 14 after she came home and found their apartment ransacked. A large amount of jewelry and cash were missing. Johnson's body was found the next day in the trunk of his car in the Bronx.
Bail was set at $2 million cash for Thompson, who lives in Fort Lee and Worcester, Massachusetts and is also known as "Boogie.''
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may occur, Molinelli said.
