Another Suspect Charged In Teen's Murder At Brooklyn Barbecue
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Another suspect has been charged in the shooting that left a 17-year-old boy dead at a barbecue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn last summer.
Travis Bourne, 23, of Brooklyn is the second person to be charged with murder in the death of Darius Robinson, 17. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 1:19 a.m., Darius Robinson was killed when he went to a barbecue at 720 St. Marks Ave. and someone fired into the crowd.
Earlier this month, police arrested Anthony Morris, 23, at 90th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side. He was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
A second suspect, Lamount Samuell, 21, of Crown Heights, had been arrested on Oct. 6 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Police have not specified whether Morris or Bourne was the gunman, nor have they delineated Samuell's role in the slaying.
Following Morris' arrest, Robinson's parents and supporters came to the 77th Police Precinct to thank officers, and they also thanked people in the community for their support and for giving investigators information.
