Angel Pagan On WFAN

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- New Mets center fielder Angel Pagan joined Joe & Evan on Wednesday to talk about what it's like replacing an All-Star in the outfield.

Carlos Beltran told Pagan and new manager Terry Collins that he wanted to make the switch because of his knees. The three-time Gold Glove winner had decreased mobility when he returned last summer following right knee surgery on Jan. 13, 2010.

"Carlos (Beltran) was looking for me, you know, he wanted to get together with Terry (Collins) and talk about it," Pagan said. "He already made up his mind about what he wanted to do."

Beltran is out again because of knee trouble, a potentially ominous sign for a Mets ballclub that had trouble scoring runs last year. Pagan says not to worry, Beltran will be back for Opening Day.

"No doubt," said Pagan. "I don't know the status of his knee, you know, but I'm pretty confident that he's going to be back pretty soon."

Do you think Pagan to centerfield was a good move by the Mets? Let us know in the comments below...
