Andrew Kissel Murder Trial Finally Begins Today

STAMFORD, CT (WCBS 880) - Four and a half years after the murder of Greenwich financier Andrew Kissel, the trial of the first of two defendants starts today in Stamford.

The jury will hear that Kissel's body, bound and stabbed, was discovered in the basement of his rented home in Greenwich, but the motive for the murder may not be crystal clear.

Kissell, armed with a $15 million life insurance policy, may have hired gunmen to kill him.

He faced years in federal prison for swindling.

Kissel's former chauffeur, Carlos Trujillo, stands trial for the murder.

His cousin, Leonard Trujillo, has already has already pleaded guitly to murder conspiracy  and will be the key witness in this trial, testifying against cousin Carlos.
