Andre Agassi To Be 2012 Inductee Into U.S. Open Court Of Champions
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Andre Agassi will be the 2012 inductee into the U.S. Open Court of Champions.
Agassi will be inducted in Arthur Ashe Stadium before the men's final on Sept. 9.
The 42-year-old Agassi won the U.S. Open twice. In 1994, he became the first unseeded player in the Open era to capture the title. He won again in 1999, part of his eight career Grand Slam championships.
Agassi competed in the tournament a men's Open-era record 21 consecutive times, from 1986 through 2006. He was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame last year.
