American Dream Mall Reopens Stores, Skating Rink And Nickelodeon Theme Park
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The American Dream mega-mall reopened Thursday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
More than 80 retailers reopened their doors, along with the Nickelodeon Universe theme park, mini-golf area and an NHL-sized skating rink.
The indoor ski and snowboard park reopened Sept. 1.
The DreamWorks water park also finally made its grand debut Thursday.
The water park, theme park, mini-golf and ice rink are operating at 25% capacity.
"We've got a reservation system, so we're really encouraging everyone to book online ahead of time, make sure they secure their spot in the parks before they arrive, and then once they get here, it's actually a touchless transaction going right into the park when they start," said Chris Mortensen, attractions director of the DreamWorks water park.
However, the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center won't open until next spring, along with luxury stores.
Guests have to wear masks to enter the mall, and there are hand sanitizing stations and barriers. Plus, there's an urgent care center operated by Hackensack Meridian.
