Alleged Robbers Nabbed After Chance Encounter In Long Island Music Store
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Call it divine intervention.
Three accused thieves, who allegedly stole church audio equipment, were arrested while trying to sell the goods to a Long Island music store -- while church leaders were inside the same location, CBS 2's Carolyn Gusoff reported Friday.
Pastor Ada Jones was shocked to discover the recently stolen equipment from Uniondale's New Jerusalem Church of Christ wheeled right by her at the Sam Ash Music Store in Carle Place. The church was robbed last week after thieves broke-in through a back door. Store employees said they were wary of the accused suspects who recently brought in church items they believed to be stolen.

"We were saying 'that's our stuff,' but we didn't want anybody to get hurt," said Leon Cunningham, of New Jerusalem Church. "We played it cool."
After the store manager called the police, the suspects were arrested, police said.
The three men from Nassau County have been charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen goods.

The church equipment was restored inside the church and will be ready for Sunday services.
