Suspect Charged In Teen's Murder At Brooklyn Barbecue
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police announced Wednesday that have solved the murder of a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed at a barbecue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
As 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr reported, on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 1:19 a.m., Darius Robinson was killed when he went to a barbecue at 720 St. Marks Ave. and someone fired into the crowd.
Alleged Gunman Arrested In Teen's Murder At Brooklyn Barbecue
On Tuesday, nearly five months after the slaying, police arrested Anthony Morris, 23, at 90th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side. He was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
A second suspect, Lamount Samuell, 21, of Crown Heights, had been arrested on Oct. 6 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Robinson's parents were grateful.
"We feel very relieved, and we're looking forward to the DA prosecuting him at the highest of the law," his father said.
"We appreciate all the love and support that we've gotten from everyone, and it's a bittersweet moment right now," his mother said.
Robinson's parents and supporters came to the 77th Police Precinct Wednesday to thank officers, and they also thanked people in the community for their support and for giving investigators information.
