Delays Of More Than 2 Hours At JFK, Newark Airports
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Some flights arriving to John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark International Airport are experiencing more than 2 1/2 hour delays.
A statement on the Federal Aviation Administration's website says Saturday evening's delays are being caused by airplane traffic management plan that was put into effect because of an equipment outage.
"FAA technicians are working to restore the system as quickly as possible," the FAA said in the statement.
Flights taking off from the airports were also being delayed more than hour.

Representatives for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates both airports, did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
The FAA is encouraging people to check with their airlines to see if their flights are affected. Travelers can also check fly.faa.gov for delay information by airport.
