After Crash, NYC Man Falls 75 Feet To His Death
NEW YORK (AP) -- Police said a New York City man who stepped out of his stalled car on an overpass was struck in traffic and fell 75 feet to his death over a guard rail.
Jawaad Abdur-Rahman was driving his girlfriend's son to school and when his car had some mechanical problems, prompting him to get out on the Bruckner Expressway between the Triborough Bridge and Sheridan Expressway.
Police said another vehicle hit the car, which struck Abur-Rahman and hurled him over the guard rail.
The child and another friend were hospitalized with injuries. The driver of the other car was not charged.
The Daily News said the 64-year-old Manhattan butcher died in nearly the same spot as the victim of a similar accident last year.
In that crash, a 30-year-old woman was flung over the rail.
