Stars Join B'klyn DA's Anti-Sex Trafficking Campaign
NEW YORK (AP/1010 WINS) -- The Brooklyn district attorney's office is launching a campaign against sex trafficking featuring actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Gabourey Sidibe in public service announcements.
The announcements will run on New York City radio stations. One features the "Sex and the City'' actress. The other features the star of "Precious.''
The campaign also includes posters and flyers that will be distributed throughout Brooklyn.
"We intend to saturate Brooklyn with these posters," Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes told 1010 WINS.
The DA timed the launch Thursday to the announcement of an indictment against a man accused of forcing a young German woman into prostitution.
His office says the defendant allegedly beat the woman and threatened to send away her 2-year-old twins.
