ACS Worker Stabbed In Back While Conducting Home Visit In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police in Brooklyn say a woman who works for the City's Administration for Children's Services was stabbed while checking on a home Thursday night.
Authorities say the 52-year-old ACS employee was conducting a home visit around 8 p.m. on 52nd Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood when 61-year-old Quanyi Feng stabbed her in the back.
She was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.
"That's really sad, ACS workers are supposed to be positive for the community and that happens to them... very sad, very upsetting," Christian Sanchez told CBS2's Reena Roy.
Neighbors say the area can be rough especially at night; reminding everyone to be extra vigilant.
"This neighborhood is getting worse and worse by the day. It used to be really good, now it's horrible," Rosa Sanchez explained.
Feng was charged with assault and tampering with evidence. He is expected to face a judge sometime Friday.
Police say that worker is in stable condition.
