Abdulrahim Sulaiman Charged In Alleged Stabbing At NJ Gas Station
BORDENTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 25-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with attempted murder in a stabbing at a southern New Jersey gas station.
Burlington County prosecutors say Abdulrahim Sulaiman of Bridgeport, Conn., attacked a 43-year-old fuel delivery driver at a Mansfield gas station around 6 a.m. Friday and attempted to stab an attendant who came to the driver's aid.
About a half-hour later, Sulaiman was hit by a car while walking on Interstate 295 in Bordentown Township.
Burlington County prosecutor's spokesman Joe Bewley said Sulaiman suffered a fractured shoulder. He's hospitalized under guard with bail set at $1 million.
The fuel truck driver is hospitalized in critical condition but is expected to survive.
Bewley said the attack appears to have been unprovoked and there was no robbery attempt.
