AAA: Gas Prices Drop In New Jersey, Above National Average In New York And Connecticut
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New Jersey drivers are seeing a break at the pump, with the average price for a gallon of regular down to $3.77.
That is a four-cent drop from last week, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic, and below the AAA national average of $3.80 a gallon.
New York and Connecticut drivers are both faced with an average price of $4.11 a gallon, according to AAA.
The national average, based on AAA reporting, is up 40 cents versus the same time frame last year.
Analysts said gas prices in New Jersey should continue to drop as demand goes down. But tensions in the Middle East could potentially cause a spike in crude oil price which could translate to higher prices at the pump, analysts said.
