A Year After Sandy, Gerritsen Beach Residents Look Forward To Halloween Celebrations
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The tight knit community of Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn was hit hard by Superstorm Sandy last year. But, will it be ready for Halloween next week?
Most residents were not around for Halloween in 2012, those who were tried to make the best of it.
"I dressed up, not even in a costume. Just clothes and went trick or treating," Anna Win said.

Win, 10, told 1010 WINS reporter Holli Haerr that she wants to be a prisoner for Halloween this year.
"I didn't want to be something so scary, but something mean," she said.
Ryan, 8, is all about scaring his neighbors.
"I want to be Freddy Kreuger," he explained.
Ryan is anticipating a better Halloween this year because last year he didn't get to go to school.
"I really want to show my friends my costume and I want to see their costumes," he said.
On Tuesday, October 29, the anniversary of Superstorm Sandy a candlelight vigil will be held at the Shellbank Creek shoreline located at the dead end of Gerritsen Avenue from 7 to 8 p.m.
