A Weekend Without Major Snow
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Tri-State residents can rejoice for Saturday's weather.
For the first weekend in quite some time, there will be no heavy snow, major accumulations or frigid temperatures in the Tri-State area.
The area saw some sleet and freezing rain Saturday, but the precipitation was mostly rain in the city. Any lingering mixed precipitation will become all rain. AccuWeather said untreated surfaces north and west of I-287 will remain very slippery.
Higher elevation areas such as the Mid-Hudson Valley or parts of Northern Jersey may see a possibly slushy coating, but all showers are expected to end by midnight.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for areas north and west of New York City through 4 p.m. this afternoon.
The high will hit the average at 39 degrees and the low will be 31—four degrees above the normal. Temperatures are expected to get warmer on Sunday at 41 degrees with sunny and breezy weather and Monday will see a high of 43.
