"Representatives of my office have met with the A.C.L.U. to flesh out more of the complaints," New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow told WCBS 880 reporter Levon Putney.
The American Civil Liberties Union asked for federal investigation, but Dow is on it.
Dow says, "If what has been alleged and shown in reports is an ongoing method, it's one that we can't tolerate. It's against the law. It's against the rules. We're going to be addressing it."
Dow says it's about seeing if these are widespread or isolated problems and she says the Newark Police Department is cooperating.
