9/11 Memorial And Museum To Open For Families Of Victims On Day Of Remembrance
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The major components of the 9/11 ceremony will remain the same, including the reading of names and the moments of silence, however a few things will be different this year.
As WCBS 880's Rich Lamb reported, for the first time on the anniversary of the tragedy, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum will be open to families who wish to go there.

Memorial and Museum President Joe Daniels says there is a space where only the families may enter, in which the unidentified remains are kept in repose.
"Now, to have the remains finally here after so many years that they were housed in temporary trailers along the FDR, to have them here in this very special place, in a very private place, is so meaningful," he said.

"The memorial exhibition within the museum, the space that has the wall of faces of all those who were lost is very much a memorial component," Daniels added.
Daniels acknowledges that while some families may want to enter the museum, others may think it's too much.
The museum will open at 7:30 a.m. for families wishing to visit.
