No. 7 Line Back On Track After Crane Accident Snarled Service For Hours
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Service on the No. 7 subway line was interrupted for hours Saturday after a crane apparently gave way, causing debris to fall onto the tracks in Queens.
The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. Service resumed on the 7 line around 4:25 p.m.
The MTA told CBS2 a crane being used on a construction site adjacent to the tracks dropped a steel beam, causing damage to the eastbound tracks.

The MTA said the crane was not being used for any MTA project, but instead was from a commercial structure nearby.
No injuries were reported. Con Edison also responded to the scene.
The MTA said customers should expect residual delays.
Late Saturday night, the 7 line was temporarily suspended again between 42nd Street-Times Square and Flushing-Main Street due to unrelated FDNY activity near 111 Street. The line was back up and running about an hour later.
