5th Annual Hogs For Hope Motorcycle Run To Benefit Children's Charity
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Fifth Annual Hogs for Hope motorcycle run will be held this weekend in Westchester County, all to benefit the Ronald McDonald House charity.
As WCBS 880's Sean Adams reported, firefighters and bikers are known for being brave and tough, but they can also be tender. With the motorcycle race from the New Croton Dam to Yonkers set to zoom off Sunday, firefighter Ken Giger said everyone involved is passionate about helping children who are fighting cancer.

"It's great to see," Giger said. "We get down there with Santa Claus, and reindeer, and Mrs. Claus, and we give gifts to all the kids that are in the housing. It's just really special to see the smiles on each kid's faces. They're in such a battle down there."
The beneficiary, Ronald McDonald House Charities, is dedicated to finding and supporting programs that improve children's health and well-being. Ronald McDonald House facilities offer families a place to stay while hospitalized children receive treatment.
Even if you don't ride a hog, you can still help the Hogs for Hope effort by attending a pig roast and barbecue at the JFK Marina on the Hudson at the end of the route. There will be live bands and raffles, with all proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House.
