$400M Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In SC
COLUMBIA, S.C. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Officials with the South Carolina Education Lottery say a $400 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Lexington in central South Carolina.
Lottery officials said early Thursday that the ticket was sold at the Murphy USA station. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 7-10-22-32-35 with the Powerball of 19.

The actual value is $399.4 million with a direct cash option of $233 million. It's the largest Powerball winning ticket sold in South Carolina and the fourth largest in the history of the game.
Second prize-winning tickets worth $2 million were sold in Florida and Pennsylvania, according to Powerball's website.
Third place $1 million tickets were also sold in California, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
In August's $448.4 million Powerball jackpot, a group of employees in New Jersey from the Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department had one of three winning tickets.
A South Brunswick man claimed the second ticket. The third was sold in Minneapolis.
Powerball is played in 43 states including New York, New jersey and Connecticut.
Organizers of the country's other big lottery, Mega Millions, are now also planning changes to increase jackpots.
Mega Millions, which is sold in 43 states, plans to boost the initial jackpot to $15 million. It also will lessen the odds of winning jackpots and make other changes that will result in faster growing prizes to grab the public's attention.
