5-year-old girl struck and killed by car in Newark, father and sister injured
NEWARK, N.J. -- A 5-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car Tuesday in Newark.
The Essex County prosecutor's office said it happened around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and North Ninth Street.
The girl's father and younger sister were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sources tell CBS2 the vehicle that struck them fled the scene.
So far, no arrests have been made.
