At Least 7 Injured, Including 14-Year-Old Girl, In Bronx Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- At least seven people were injured – including a 14-year-old girl and three firefighters – in an extra-alarm blaze in the Bronx Sunday.
As 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported, the fire broke out just before 5:30 p.m. in an apartment building at 941 Intervale Ave., in the East Morrisania section of the Bronx.

The fire started on the first floor and blocked residents' path, so everyone had to use the fire escape.
Two of the civilian victims were reported in critical condition, and two others in serious, but stable, condition. One of the victims was a 14-year-old girl, but it was not immediately clear which.
Also among the injured was a woman who fell from the fire escape.
Three firefighters also ended up with minor injuries, fire officials said.
Neighbors told 1010 WINS a police officer was also hurt. Official confirmation was not immediately available.
"I opened my door, and that's when I saw the fire, so I told the kids to go out the window down the fire escape," fire victim Sophia Robinson told CBS 2. "I don't know where it was coming from. I just know when I opened my door, there was fire."
One boy, Christian, said he learned of the fire, when his sister screamed, "Fire!"
"I had to run out to the fire escape. I had to take my little down the fire escape. My mom – she's scared of heights, so I had to take her down too," he said. "It was just crazy."
All of the injured people were taken to Harlem Hospital Center, fire officials said.
Residents told 1010 WINS the fire was sparked by some children playing with matches.
