4-Alarm Fire Rips Through 3 Homes In The Bronx, Injuring 13

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A multi-alarm fire tore through three homes in the Wakefield section of the Bronx Wednesday.

The fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m. and quickly grew to four alarms.

Eleven firefighters and two residents suffered injuries. One resident was injured jumping from a window. One of the firefighters sustained a serious injury but is in stable condition. All the other injuries are considered minor.

The three homes are next to one another on Hill Avenue.

Footage from the scene shows numerous firefighters surrounding the homes and pouring water through a gaping hole in the roof of one of the buildings.

The powerful jet of water from the firefighter's hoses toppled a chimney at one of the fire-damaged homes.
