30 With Murti Podcast: Years Later, Mike Scioscia Is Still Battling
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Now in his 17th season, Angels skipper Mike Scioscia is the longest tenured manager in the majors.
In this week's episode of the "30 With Murti" podcast, Scioscia talks about growing up in Philadelphia, climbing the rungs as a player in the Dodgers organization, and reflects on some of the highlights of his career, including his home run off Doc Gooden in the 1988 NLCS that silenced Shea Stadium.
Scioscia, who guided his club to the 2002 World Series championship, also discusses his two appearances on The Simpsons and his thoughts on how managing has changed -- or why it hasn't changed at all -- since he took over the Angels in 2000.
