Taking a look at who's hot and who's not on the local sports landscape:
THREE UP:
1. Islanders, Rangers
John Tavares and Kyle Okposo appear to have snapped out of their respective funks, combining for nine points in their last five games. Meanwhile, the Blueshirts picked up their third-straight win, a 2-0 shutout in Edmonton.
2. Eli Manning-OBJ Connection
Another strong performance by those two, as they hooked up for 12 receptions and 143 yards during a 24-13 win over Washington.
3. Jets' Morale
To heck with tanking for the sake of draft position, the Jets said. They came away with a 16-11 victory in Nashville.
THREE DOWN:
1. Jets' Draft-Day Outlook
On the other hand, the Jets kind of needed that first pick. If they want it, they'll have to trade for it.
2. Knicks
The Downward spiral continues, and now they'll be without Iman Shumpert for at least three weeks. They're now 5-21 on the year, the worst start in the history of the franchise.
3. Nets' Fan Base
They lost an individual who personified what it meant to be a true fan. Jeffrey Gamblero was just 38 years old.
