3 Suspects Wanted In String Of Robberies On J Train In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were searching for three suspects in connection with a string of robberies on the J Train in Queens.
The first incident happened shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the 102nd Street on a train at the Jamaica Avenue subway station. A 22-year-old man was on the J Train when the robbers punched him in the face, police said.
The suspects went through the victim's pockets, but were unable to retrieve anything, police said. The victim as not hospitalized.
At 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, the suspects struck again on a J Train the 121st Street and Jamaica Avenue subway station. They approached a woman and took her iPhone 5 from her hand before running off, police said.
The victim was not injured.
In the third incident around 10:25 p.m. this past Thursday, the suspects snatched an iPhone 4S from a 26-year-old woman on a J Train at the 111th Street and Jamaica Avenue station.
The suspects were described in the second incident as three black males in their late teens, standing about 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 10 inches tall.
The first suspect was described as wearing a red winter jacket, dark pants and dark shoes, the second was seen with dark clothing, and the third was wearing a dark winter jacket with a gray or white-hooded sweat shirt underneath, and blue jeans, police said.
Police have released a surveillance video from the second incident.
