NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were asking for the public's help in finding a trio of suspects wanted for a Valentine's Day gunpoint robbery in Inwood.
At 8:14 p.m. this past Thursday, three men walked into a parking garage at 4036 Tenth Ave., to ask about renting a parking space. Afterward, one of the suspects pulled a silver handgun and pistol-whipped the parking garage attendant several times in the head, police said.
One of the other suspects hopped into a parked vehicle that had the keys in the ignition and drove off while the other two men fled on foot.
The stolen vehicle, a green Subaru, was recovered, police said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries to his head.
The garage is located at the southeast corner of Tenth Avenue at 215th Street, two blocks from Hostos Community College. The No. 1 subway train tracks run overhead on that stretch of Tenth Avenue.
The suspects are all described as Hispanic males about 25 years old. The suspect with the gun was last seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, while the other two had on dark-colored clothing.
Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect.
